Along with the ThinkPad X200, and SL Series, Lenovo has launched the new ThinkPad T, R, and W notebooks, based on next generation Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (14.1-inch), T500 (15.4″), R400 (14.1″), and R500 (15.4″) series provide a wide selection of the latest Intel Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer processors. In addition, the lower-end R series feature the new Celeron CPUs.
The higher-end T400 and T500 laptops come with switchable graphics, enabling an easy switch between the power-saving Intel X4500 integrated GPU and more powerful discrete ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3470/3650 video cards. The new Series also include displays with LED backlight, solid state drive options, DDR3 memory support, optional Blu-Ray drive, web camera, and DisplayPort technology.
The ThinkPad R400/R500 come with the integrated X4500 graphics and traditional hard drives only, and also feature DDR3 memory, DisplayPort, webcam in select models, and Blu-Ray option.
According to the PC maker, the Lenovo ThinkPad W Series is “the ultimate mobile workstation and the most powerful ThinkPad ever built”. The 15.4-incher is configurable with a wide range of hardware and software options and includes the ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 video card.
The ThinkPad T, R, and W laptops start at $1,130, $956, and $1,904, respectively.
