Lenovo ThinkPad X201Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad X201 ultraportable notebook, featuring a 12.1-inch display, the 2010 Intel Core i processors, and a starting weight of 2.89 pounds.

Unlike the X201s with low-voltage CPUs, the Lenovo ThinkPad X201 utilizes the full-voltage 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M, 2.53GHz Core i5-540M, or 2.40GHz Core i5-520M chips. Other core components include Intel HD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 500GB hard drive or up to 128GB solid state drive. The laptop does not have a built-in optical drive.

The display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, LED backlight, and anti-glare coating.

The X201 sports a full-size spill-resistant keyboard, a multi-touch trackpad and the TrackPoint pointing device, a 2.0MP web camera, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, optional 3G connectivity with GPS, optional WiMAX, 3 USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, and VGA output, as well as choice of 5-1 media card reader with modem or 3-1 media card reader and no modem for a weight optimized system.

Lenovo provides three battery options for the X201: 4-cell, 6-cell, and 9-cell units for up to 3.4, 6.7 and 11.3 hours of run time, respectively.

The ThinkPad X201 runs Windows 7 Professional OS and starts at $1,099.
