Lenovo ThinkPad X301 Coming This Month

Lenovo is going to launch the ThinkPad X301 13.3-inch ultraportable notebook on August 26, according to a press release.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X301, which is a successor of the X300 laptop, starts at less than three pounds and is one-inch thin. Lenovo says the ThinkPad X301 “provides on average nearly 20 percent better performance over the ThinkPad X300 notebook due to the latest DDR3 memory and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low volt processor.”

The X301 will be available with the upcoming Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U9300 (1.2GHz) and U9400 (1.4GHz) processors. Both CPUs have 6MB of L2 cache and a 1066MHz front side bus, according to Engadget.

The system supports up to 2GB of RAM, and will ship with up to 128GB of solid state drive storage (available in September), a built-in optical drive, and display with LED backlight. Other features include WiFi, mobile broadband, GPS, UltraWide Band, and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as Display Port and VGA outputs.

The ThinkPad X301 notebooks will start at $2,599.
