LGLG Electronics has filed a lawsuit against Taiwan’s Quanta Computer, the world’s largest contract manufacturer of notebook PCs, over the infringement of four patents related to DVD technology, the company said today. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court, Western District of Wisconsin on July 3, LG published.

LG alleged that Quanta has been using the infringing technology to produce notebooks that have been supplied to US computer vendors. Quanta’s customers are vendors such as HP, Dell, and others.

The South Korean LG wants Quanta to stop using LG’s DVD technology, as well as cash compensation.

Quanta Computer declined to immediately comment on the lawsuit.
