MALIBAL SatoriMALIBAL announced the addition of Intel Core 2 Duo (codenamed Merom) processors to its line of Satori gaming/mobile workstation laptops. The 17-inch widescreen MALIBAL Satori configurations featuring Core 2 Duo T5500, T5600, T7200, T7400 and T7600 are available through MALIBAL’s website.

The notebook’s graphics is powered by Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX card with 512MB of GDDR3 memory. Merom-powered MALIBAL Satori is also configurable with Nvidia’s Quadro FX Go 2500M with 512MB memory for an additional $300.

You can choose main memory in range of between 512MB and 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM and SATA hard drive with minimum 40GB and maximum 160GB of storage space. The basic Satori Core 2 Duo configuration includes DVD/CD-RW combo drive, but it can be upgraded with a double layer DVD burner.

The Satori provides an optional built-in wireless card and bluetooth, a built-in 56K V90 fax/modem and 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN card. It has a built-in 1.3 megapixel web camera and an optional TV tuner.

Regarding ports and slots, the MALIBAL Satori comes with 4 USBs, an infrared, a serial Port, a DVI video out, one Kensington Lock port, S-Video TV out and a PCMCIA Type II slot.

The Satori notebook is powered by 8-cell battery, with life of 2 to 2.5 Hours, according to laptop’s product page, and it comes with Windows XP Home or XP Professional.

The base configuration on the Satori Series has a starting price of $2345 and includes an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, a 512MB of memory and a 40GB hard drive. The notebook comes standard with 1yr parts and labor warranty and 24/7 USA-Based phone support. Extended warranties are available.
