Medion MD RIM 1000 UMPCThe forthcoming Medion’s ultra-mobile personal computer, the MD RIM 1000, will be more usable than current well-known UMPC devices, because it has slide out keyboard and a touch pad, Slash Gear reports.

Medion MD RIM 1000 UMPC also features VIA’s 1GHz ultra-low voltage processor, 512MB of memory, and 20, 30 or 40MB hard drive spinning at 4200rpm. The MD RIM 1000’s 6.5-inch touch screen is powered by Unichrome Pro graphics.

Regarding Internet and connectivity, it features 802.11b/g wireless and Bluetooth 2.0. Along with integrated GPS, the Medion’s UMPC incorporates webcam and digital TV tuner.

Weighing around 1.5 lbs, Medion MD RIM 1000 has battery life of between 4 and 5 hours.

According to the images published by Slash Gear, the new Medion’s UMPC will be able to run Windows Vista operating system.

There is no info on pricing and availability dates.

This UMPC has 40GB hard drive, not 40MB.
