Microsoft Hardware announced Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000, the company’s first webcam designed exclusively for laptop use. The NX-6000 allows the 2.0 megapixels video and 7.6 megapixels interpolated still photography.
The LifeCam’s lens is fully collapsible and retracts inside the body of the webcam when not in use. The Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 also features built-in unidirectional microphone and the attachment base for easy placement on most laptop screens.
According to the press release, the Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 will be available in November 2006 for an estimated retail price of $99.95 in the U.S.
