Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, and Surface Book Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2017

Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Book Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2017

The first Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2017 deals on the Microsoft Surface 2-in-1 tablet and laptop PC series have been published. The official Microsoft Store has announced some Black Friday Surface Pro tablet and Surface Laptop bundle deals. Also, Best Buy’s Black Friday ad includes instant savings on the Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 tablet with included keyboard and a Surface Laptop + mouse bundle.

This page will be regularly updated with new Surface-related discounts as soon as they appear.

Microsoft Surface Pro Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2017

You can check out the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017, Gen 5) 12.3-inch 2-in-1 tablet Black Friday bundles on Microsoft Store.

Starting November 23th 12AM ET, you’ll be able to save $329 the on the Surface Pro Intel Core i5 / 256GB SSD configuration (normally priced at $1,299) bundled with a black Type Cover keyboard (normally $129).

Also, you’ll be able to “bundle and save” $229 on the 128GB / Intel i5 Surface Pro (normally $999) and the same black Type Cover.

Until the Black Friday and upcoming Cyber Monday 2017 deals arrive, you
can regularly save up to $159 on bundled extras when you purchase one of the Surface Pro 2017 configurations with Microsoft Complete 2-year accidental damage coverage, Signature Type Cover keyboard, sleeve, and 1-year MS Office 365 subscription. This Essential Bundle deal is available now on this Microsoft Store page.

As a side note, the company has special lower pricing on select products, including the Surface Pro, but only for eligible students, parents, teachers, and military.

Best Buy in their Black Friday 2017 ad lists the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017, Gen 5, regularly $799.00) with a Black Type Cover keyboard for $629.00. It’s the most basic Surface Pro configuration (model HGG-00001) with the lower-mid range Intel Core M3-7Y30 dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid state drive. The regular price for the tablet / keyboard cover combo is $999.00. The deal was available just recently, as an early Black Friday offer. It will go live again on November 23th, Thanksgiving.

If you’re more into instant savings than bundles, Amazon is another good place to go. At least for now. There you can find some decent Surface Pro discounts. But, most of the instant off deals are for the older (yet similar) Surface Pro 4 from the late 2015. Prices there change very frequently, so please visit this Amazon page for the latest up-to-date prices.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2017

The Best Buy ad also includes a Surface Laptop bundle deal. The basic configuration (Intel Core i5-7200U CPU / 4GB RAM / 128GB SSD) of this traditional-style 13.5″ laptop is bundled with the Microsoft Arc Mouse. The price for this bundle is $999.00, as same as the regular price for the Surface Laptop only. So you basically get the Arc Mouse for free.

A Microsoft Store’s Black Friday bundle deal will be available for the Microsoft Surface Laptop, too. You will be able to save $199 on the Surface Laptop + Harman Kardon Invoke Speaker Bundle starting Nov. 23th 12AM ET.

Here’s another currently available offer which isn’t a Black Friday nor Cyber Monday deal. If you order the Surface Laptop together with Complete accidental damage coverage, 1-year Office 365 subscription, and a sleeve, you can save up to $109 on the added extras. Check out this deal on MS Store.

Please stay tuned for more and hopefully better Surface Laptop offers. In the meantime, you can check out Amazon for some regular instant savings on the Microsoft’s laptop PC.

Microsoft Surface Book Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2017

Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2017 deals on the premium-class Microsoft Surface Book 2-in-1 laptop PC with detachable keyboard are not available yet. Until recently, MS Store was offering up to $400 off the Surface Book (original late 2015 version, 13.5-inch) and up to $500 off the Surface Book with Performance Base (late 2016, 13.5″). But, this deal has expired. These were not the official Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, so we advise you to visit this page again in the coming days for the latest updates.

So far, we don’t have any info about special offers on the just recently announced Microsoft Surface Book 2 (2017) 2-in-1. From the past years we have learned that no meaningfully good Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are available for the newest Surface products. If you want to buy (pre-order) the Surface Book 2 13.5″ and 15″ convertibles at their regular prices, you can do it via the Microsoft Store. There you can also get the Surface Studio desktop PC as well.

Refurbished Surface PCs

You can regularly save money if you purchase a refurbished Surface device. You can find them via this MS Store link. They are certified refurbished. Microsoft says these devices are backed by a limited one-year hardware warranty.

For future updates, please bookmark and check back this page. We’ll update it as soon as we find out new discounts. The current version of the article was posted on 11/13/2017.

  1. I bought the SP4 at best buy today. They included a type cover that normally cost $130 ish. It’s near $700 total with the stylus and 9% tax.

  2. i almost went ahead and bought the sp4 today but came across your article. how many more days until there will be more discounts, do you think?

    • Usually, Best Buy has good Black Friday deals on Surface products. Their ad leaked last year around November 10th, so around that date I expect their deals to appear on this page. Also, the Microsoft Store will very likely offer some instant savings. I expect their ads a little bit later, maybe in the week prior to Black Friday. Surprisingly, Amazon had excellent deals last year. Select models were cheaper there even before Black Friday & Cyber Monday than on Best Buy and MS Store on BF and CM.

    • The Intel Core m3-6y30 in the basic Surface Pro 4 scores around 3,000 points in popular PassMark benchmark, while the i5-6300U scores around 4,300. If you’re only into basic work like web surf, Office, Netflix etc, this difference isn’t huge. But it will be noticeable in heavy tasks like video production etc.

However, a great advantage of the Intel m3-based SP4 is its fanless design. The m3 has much lower cooling requirements and also consumes less power than the i5 and i7 versions, so you should have a slightly better battery life with it.

    • At the Microsoft Store it starts at $799, which is the lowest price for the i5 / 4GB / 128GB model. If it’s sold out when you visit the site (it goes to “out of stock” status frequently), the next best option is the same device at Amazon for $877. That the price for a Windows 8.1-based configuration, but you can upgrade it to Windows 10 for free. But keep in mind that for only $23 more you can regularly get the Surface Pro 4 Intel Core i5 / 128GB for $999. At Best Buy, the i5/128GB SP3 configuration is out of stock, but the i5/256GB one is still available for $999.

    • If you’re referring to the points in the Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2015 deals list, these are PassMark benchmark scores for devices’ processors.

    • Thanks for the tip Craig. I’ve included the 512GB Surface Pro 3 deal in the post. On the other hand, the 256GB i7 model is currently $1,297.99 on Amazon, while Best Buy will sell it $1,249.99, so Best Buy’s deal is definitely worth mentioning. Also, Microsoft Store’s deals can be potentially better than the current Amazon’s, since for instance the cheapest model on Amazon is offered with $80 off, whereas MS Store currently offers $100 off on it, with possibility to reduce the price even further on Nov. 26th. But, yeah, Amazon’s page will be worth checking out in the following days, since they change / lower the prices quite often.

  3. Any news on free keyboards like last year? There was Surface 2 with keyboard for $200. The $300 deal w/o keyboard isn’t worth it.

    • Nothing so far. By the way, the $200 deal was actually for the original Surface RT 1 and keyboard. It was an excellent deal anyway. I’ve checked Micro Center again this year, but no such or similar offers are available.
