The MSI GT725 is a recently launched 17-inch gaming laptop based on Intel’s CPU and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 graphics.
In the US, there are three models available - the MSI GT725-074US with the Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz processor, the GT725-075US with the Core 2 Duo P9500 at 2.53GHz, and the 2GHz Core 2 Quad Q9000-based GT725-212US. Besides the Mobility Radeon HD 4850 dedicated video card with 512MB of DDR3 VRAM, all models include 4GB of DDR2 system memory, a 320GB hard drive, and Drive Engine Technology for CPU overclocking when on AC power.
The GT725-075US comes with a 1680×1050 display and a DVD burner, whereas the GT725-075US and the GT725-212US ship with a “full HD” 1920 x 1200 screen and a Blu-Ray combo drive.
The GT725 notebooks also sport four speakers and a subwoofer, Dolby sound technology, a built-in 2MP web cam, 802.11a/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and a 56K modem.
Ports and slots include HDMI and VGA outputs, three USB connectors, an eSATA/USB combo, an ExpressCard slot, a 4-in-1 media card reader, and Firewire.
The GT725 weighs around 7 pounds with the 9-cell battery and runs Windows Vista Home Premium OS.
The MSI GT725-074US, GT725-075US, and GT725-212US are priced at $1,350 (Newegg), $1,579 (Excaliber PC), and $1,600 (Newegg) respectively.
