The laptop incorporates a variety of ports and slots including both PCMCIA PC Card and ExpressCard slots, four USB ports, FireWire, DVI and S-Video outputs, as same as 6-in-1 card reader. The notebook weighs around 6.4 pounds with 9-cell battery providing up to three hours of continuous work between charges.

The Super Pi and 3DMark05 benchmarks show that MSI M677 Crystal has CPU and graphics performance similar to Asus Z96Js with Intel Core Duo processor at 2GHz and ATI X1600 graphics.
