Mtron Solid State DrivesMtron has announced its new 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch solid state drives lineup, with read speeds of 120MB/sec and write speeds of 90MB/sec.

According to DailyTech, Mtron is leaving its competition in the dust with the company’s new range of SSDs.

“SanDisk’s offering features read speeds of 67MB/sec (write speeds are unknown) while Samsung quotes 65MB/sec reads and 45MB/sec writes. Adtron’s 160GB SSD trumps both with a maximum read speed of 70MB/sec and maximum write speed of 55MB/sec,” the report says.

The Mtron’s new solid state drives with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities are expected to become available in September. During the fourth quarter, the SSD maker is expected to launch a 128GB unit in a 1.8-inch form factor.

Currently there is no information on prices for the company’s speedy solid state drives.

The 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch SSDs can be used as a power saving and durable replacements for traditional laptop-use hard drives.
