Cell phone maker Nokia today entered the laptop market with the Booklet 3G netbook.
Weighing no more than 2.75 pounds, the 0.78″ thin Booklet 3G features a 10.1-inch 1280×720 display, the Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, a “fanless” chipset design, 1GB of “soldered down” DDR2 memory, a 120GB 1.8″ hard drive with Windows 7 OS pre-installed, and a battery life of “up to 12 hours with normal daily use”.
Along with optional 3G/HSPA connectivity with hot swappable SIM card functionality, the netbook also sports 802.11n WiFi, built-in assisted-GPS, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP web camera and microphone, HDMI output, three USB ports, and an SD card reader.
The Booklet 3G has a chassis made of aluminum and will come in three different colors at launch: black, ice (white) and azure (blue).
Nokia’s first netbook will be priced at around $810 reportedly. The company didn’t provide info on availability date.
