After CompAmerica’s recent announcement of 20-inch widescreen dual-core SLI enabled laptop, PC MicroWorks unveiled the similar mobile gaming computer, but with more additional options such as Blu-Ray drive, EVDO Internet connectivity, up to 4GB of RAM and up to 600GB of storage capacity.
PC MicroWorks Vega has AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core TL-60 processor and offers SLI graphics using dual nVIDIA Geforce GO 7950GTX SLI or dual nVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M SLI, both with 1GB of video memory in total.
Regarding Vega’s storage, Blu-Ray-RW drive allows playback of high definition movies, but also the ability to store up to 50GB of data on rewriteable BD disk. We assume the notebook’s 600GB of storage is provided by using a pair of the Fujitsu’s latest 300GB 2.5-inch hard drives spinning at 4200rpm.
The “chepest” PC MicroWorks Vega notebook, configured with Blu-Ray costs $4954, but price can rise over $7000 when additional advanced features are included.
