News Forge recently reviewed R Cubed LS1250-L Linux laptop. It’s a 12.1-inch screen notebook built on the ASUS Z33A Platform. The LS1250-L can be configured with Intel’s Celeron or Pentium M processors. The preinstalled Fedora Core 5 Linux or Open SUSE 10.1 operating systems and Open Office (very similar to MS Office, but free) are included in R Cubed LS1250-L price, which starts at $1,166.40.
There’s also option to order the LS1250-L with Linux enterprise editions, and also both Linux and Windows XP preinstalled on the same laptop (dual-boot option). Great advantage of ordering R Cubed LS1250-L with Linux OS is that you get a lot of useful software for everyday computing for free. Beside office suite containing applications such as word processor, spreadsheet editor and presentation software (like MS Power Point), you also get various multimedia applications, free antivirus, Linux games and more.

With just a bit of tweaking, the LS could be great. As is, it’s a good choice for the active professional who needs a strong mobile Linux machine.
