Back in September at the IFA Show, we spotted colorful versions of the Samsung NP300V5A Series 3 15.6-inch laptop PC. Now, a blue (NP300V5A-A0AUS) and a pink (NP300V5A-A09US) model have arrived for the US customers.
The Samsung NP300V5A-A0AUS and NP300V5A-A09US are basically white, while the surfaces between keyboard keys and lids are blue and pink, respectively, with a brushed metal texture. What we liked on these notebooks is their slim bezel, which gives the laptops a better look, but also enables a smaller footprint.
The models we saw had an Intel Core i5 processor, but the NP300V5A-A0AUS and NP300V5A-A09US sold via Walmart feature the 2.1GHz Intel Pentium B950 with dual CPU cores and Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM, while for data storing there are a 500GB hard disk and a DVD writer. The OS version is Windows 7 Home Premium.
The screen on these laptops is anti-glare with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.
Samsung’s NP300V5A-A0AUS and NP300V5A-A09US have a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, HDMI and VGA ports, three USB 2.0 connectors, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.
The battery is a 6-cell lithium-ion one. Samsung says it’s designed for the long haul, retaining “80% of the original battery capacity for up to 1,000 charges”.
The Series 3 NP300V5A-A0AUS and NP300V5A-A09US are affordable. Both are priced at $465.00 at Walmart, after instant savings.
