Samsung SPH-P9000 UMPCSamsung will show the SPH-P9000 UMPC device which features Mobile WiMAX technology, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007 in Las Vegas.

Samsung SPH-P9000 also incorporates Windows XP operating system, and full QWERTY keyboard, 30GB hard disk, 256MB RAM, a 1GHz CPU and 1.3 megapixel camera, as same as CDMA EV-DO network capability.

All the SPH-P9000 features are packed into a compact 5.6” X 3.7” X 1.17” UMPC’s size with a 5” display. The device weights 1.28 lbs.

“While Samsung had previously showcased its Mobile WiMAX technology at several events, the demonstration at CES is significant because it is the first showcase in the US since Samsung and Sprint-Nextel agreed last August to work together on the major US carrier’s 4G wireless broadband initiative, which will adopt the Mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e TDD OFDMA) technology standard,” the company said.
