Sony has launched the VAIO CW, a 14-inch multimedia laptop featuring an Intel processor and NVIDIA’s dedicated graphics.
The first Sony VAIO CW models listed on SonyStyle.com come with the Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 CPU at 2.2GHz, the NVIDIA GeForce GT230M 512MB or GeForce GT210M 256MB video card, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 320GB hard drive, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The laptop will be also available with a 500GB HDD and a Blu-ray burner.
Its 14″ display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and LED backlighting.
Other features include a built-in web camera and microphone, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 that supports stereo audio stream, an Ethernet LAN port, HDMI and VGA outputs, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, Memory Stick PRO and Secure Ditigal card readers, and a Firewire connector.
The 5.3-pound Sony VAIO CW has a battery life of up to 4 hours, which can be extended to a maximum of 6 hours with the optional extended battery.
Color options for the chassis are black, white, red, pink, and purple.
The notebook runs Windows 7 OS and starts at $800, but it wasn’t available for purchase at the time of this writing.
