Sony unveiled yesterday the VAIO Graphic Splash Maya Hayuk Edition notebooks featuring designs from artist Maya Hayuk. These limited edition laptops, based on the 15.4-inch Sony VAIO FZ series, will be available in two designs – “Grow†and “Never Stopâ€.
“The ‘Grow’ edition captures the feel of an organic forest with deep green, blue and purple flower-growing wildly across the top of the notebook while ‘Never Stop’ is a colorful, kaleidoscopic design that is decked in interlacing lines and spherical shapes,” the press release says.
The VAIO Graphic Splash Maya Hayuk Edition models also include wallpaper that matches each design, a limited edition engraving, and a pre-installed video of Maya discussing her inspiration behind the designs. Each notebook comes with a certificate of authenticity with Hayuk’s original signature as well.
The notebooks will be available at www.sonystyle.com this month with a price tag of about $2,500.
Along with a 15.4″ 1280×800 display, the VAIO FZ series feature the Intel “Santa Rosa” laptop platform, a Core 2 Duo processor and Windows Vista operating system. The FZ notebooks weigh starting at 5.75lbs.
