Sony VAIO NRSony prepares the launch of the VAIO NR series laptops, according to specifications leaked from a German website.

NotebookReview reports the VAIO NR is a pretty basic 15.4″ widescreen laptop, featuring Intel Core 2 Duo processor and integrated graphics. This Intel “Santa Rosa” platform-based notebook has the GMA X3100 video solution and 802.11 a/b/g wireless connectivity. The two listed models, aimed at European market, will come with 2GB of system memory and a 200GB hard drive.

These laptops provide four USB ports, ExpressCard, Memory Stick, and SD card slots, a FireWire port, and a VGA output.

The Sony Vaio NR is expected to become available this fall, with a price starting at around $899 reportedly. Currently, there is no information on its availability in the United States.

not so basic - it weighs less than 6 lbs, so much less than than most pcs and comparable to a mac.
