Sony announced that VAIO UX Premium Micro PC, a flash drive version of its VAIO UX Micro PC, will become available this February.
UX Premium Micro PC comes with 32GB flash memory based drive. These drives, known as solid state discs/drives (SSD), provide faster speeds for booting up and accessing data, greater reliability and lower power consumption.
According to the company’s press release, the latest version of this UMPC device, the UX Premium Micro PC, will come equipped with everything the original had, including an Intel Core Solo processor, Wireless LAN and WAN access capabilities, a 4.5 widescreen display and complete keyboard.
The Sony VAIO UX Premium Micro PC, showcased at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007 this week, is Windows Vista-ready and available in black color. It will retail for about $2,500.
