Asus P-Series P2540UA-AB51 Business 15.6″ Laptop (FHD Display, 7th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD)
The Asus P-Series P2540UA-AB51 is an affordable 500-dollar business-oriented PC in a standard 15.6-inch laptop form factor. It sports usual features you can find on the mainstream 2017 notebooks, but additionally has some extra perks to make business use easier.
The Asus P-Series P2540UA-AB51 has a Full HD 1920×1080-pixel 15.6″ display. FHD brings sharper picture in comparison to budget-class 1366×768 resolution. But also, there’s more room on the screen for opened programs, which is useful for productivity. Anti-glare LCD coating is there to help you with work in bright environments. What’s missing on the display is IPS technology for wide viewing angles, which is usually reserved for pricier laptops. Also, keyboard backlight has been omitted on this model.
The chassis is made of matte black plastics.
The P2540UA-AB51 is based on the 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5GHz-3.1GHz dual-core processor. We recently reviewed the i5-7200U and found that it is perfectly suitable for home and office tasks. It provides fast operation of productivity programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and other MS Office apps. Other day-to-day tasks work seamlessly, be it web browsing, e-mailing, multimedia playback, or even casual gaming (thanks to the Intel HD 620 graphics). RAM size of 8GB enables comfortable multitasking without hiccups. The hard disk with 1TB capacity delivers a plenty of storage space, which is sufficient for most users. Except for those who want to store insane number of mp3 files or those who collect Ultra HD videos. This computer has a built-in DVD drive.
A flexible feature of the notebook are its dedicated removable cover for access to system memory and usual 2.5″ storage device for easier upgrades. The laptop has two memory slots, so you can have up to 16GB of RAM inside.
Another good selling point of the P2540UA-AB51 is the battery. It has an above average capacity of 76 WHr. For comparison, most of the 15.6″ consumer-class laptops come with ~30-40 WHr units. According to Asus, this laptop model can last up to nine hours on a single battery charge. Furthermore, the battery is user-removable, as opposed to notebooks with batteries sealed inside the chassis.
Security is quite important for business users. To enhance security, the laptop has a built-in TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip, as well as fingerprint reader which additionally enables quick system log-ins.
With a total of 4 USB ports (3 x USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 2.0) and both HDMI and VGA video outputs, the P-series is well equipped for peripheral connectivity. It also has both 802.11AC Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet LAN network interfaces, Bluetooth, a combo mic-in / headphones-out audio connector, and a multi-format media card reader.
As usual, the notebook has a built-in web camera and stereo speakers.
The P2540UA-AB51 has a weight of 5.2 pounds and measures 0.9″ in profile.
The model ships with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.
