Dell Inspiron 13 7000 7353 (i7353) ‘Special Edition’ 13.3″ 2-in-1 Laptop (FHD, 6th Gen Intel Core, 8GB RAM, HDDs & SSDs)

The Dell Inspiron 13 7000 7353 (or i7353) is a Special Edition of the PC maker’s Inspiron 13 7000-series 13.3-inch 2-in-1 laptop with a fully rotatable display. Basically, it’s very similar to the 7359 standard edition model, with a few differences.

The 7353 has an aluminum keyboard deck instead of an all-plastics body, but lacks a pen which is included with the 7359, with a dedicated slot in the chassis for the pen. It’s worth noting that in the Inspiron 13 7000 series pen is supported in form of capacitive / passive input technology, meaning it lacks pressure sensitivity and other perks of full-blown active pens which require active digitizer displays. So, you can separately buy a capacitive pen and use it with the Dell 7353, just like with the 7353.

The lower-mid-range Intel Core i3-6100U dual-core processor option is missing on the 7353. It’s available with the mid-range Core i5-6200U (review) and upper-mid-range i7-6500U. Furthermore, the Special edition comes with 8GB of system memory across the lineup, while the standard 7359 comes with 4GB or optionally 8GB. The 7353 features the Full HD 1920×1080-pixel display resolution only, whereas the standard 13 7000 has a 1366×768 panel as the default and FHD as an option. In both cases, the multi-touch display provides IPS technology for wide viewing angles. The screen is managed by the Intel HD 520 integrated graphics (review), which can be used for some light casual gaming.

There are multiple storage options – you can select either the traditional hard disk drive with a capacity of 500GB or 1TB, or solid state drive storage in 128GB or 256GB sizes.

The rest of the admirable specs sheet includes keyboard backlight, stereo speakers, a 720p web camera, 802.11AC wireless and Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, HDMI video output connector, a multi-format media card reader, and a combo headphones / microphone audio port.

Dell has rated the battery life of the Inspiron 13 7000 7353 / i7353 at “up to nine hours”.

The notebook is quite portable with a weight of 3.7 pounds and 0.7″ thickness.

why doesn’t this Dell inspiron come with a stylus like the others?

    Patricia Littlefield – November 16, 2016:

I really love this computer. It is VERY fast and has so many things I wanted in a computer. Love the touch and the ability to fold into various configurations. Especially love the tent set up when playing games. It can be frustrating now to use a non touch. I would say the touch screen is not quite as good as my tablet but still is great. I bought some soft ended pens which work well if you do not want to use your fingers

I had a couple of minor problems. One with the graphics driver which was occasional and not that bad but Dell repaired it online so no biggy. Bigger annoyance is Windows 10 I think. I had occasional sound issues with my earphones and had to play around with settings and reinstallation. Then I noticed that every time Microsoft updated the OS I lost my sound for around 12-24 hours so I can’t blame Dell.

    Dell support was excellent.
