Compare Specs

The Dell Latitude 14 5000 E5450 is a business laptop with a 14-inch display. It’s a smaller version of the 15.6-inch E5550. Besides the obvious screen size and dimensions differences, the Latitude E5450 lacks IPS wide viewing angle display technology and has a bit different processor options. Furthermore, the 14-incher doesn’t provide solid state drive options.

The 14″ display has either 1366-by-768 or 1920-by-1080 resolution and optional touch support on the higher-res models. The notebook comes with either 4th Generation Intel Core i3 “Haswell or 5th Gen Core i3, i5, and i7 “Broadwell” processor, as opposed to all-Broadwell Latitude E5550. Dell sells the E5450 only with a 500GB hard drive. RAM memory choices are modest too, because the system has only one RAM slot. You can have either 4GB or 8GB RAM. A built-in DVD drive is missing on both laptops.

On the positive side, the E5450 weighs in at 4 pounds, instead of 4.7 of the 15.6″ version.

Regarding other features, worth noting are optional keyboard backlight and magnesium alloy display lid, optional 4G mobile broadband module, and various enterprise-oriented perks such as fingerprint and SmartCard reader options, a choice of Intel’s vPro system management technology, and support for Dell’s E-dock docking stations. Also, you can configure the laptop with Professional editions of Windows 8 and 7, besides the standard Win 8.

    Hello,

I have one question why my Dell Latitude E5450 has no smart card reader and fingerprint. As is review this model on the web, i see there’s one smartcard reader and fingerprint. Even the keyboard is different from my one.

I would like to ask if i got the fake one.

    Thank you.

Hi, the Smart Card and fingerprint readers are optional features on this model. If your configuration doesn’t include them, that doesn’t mean your laptop isn’t the Latitude E5450. As for the keyboard, its key layout may vary depending on region.
