HP 15-bw032WM 15.6″ Smoke Gray Laptop Bundle (Windows 10, AMD A12-9720 CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD + Mouse & Backpack)
The HP 15-bw032WM will be one of the most popular laptop models this Black Friday. That’s because it’s a part of an attractive Black Friday bundle deal by Walmart. The main part of the “Special Value” bundle is the HP 15-bw032WM 15.6-inch Smoke Gray-colored notebook with touch-screen, the AMD A12-9720 quad-core processor, 8GB of system memory, a 1TB hard drive, and Windows 10 Home OS pre-installed. Besides the notebook, the bundle includes a wireless HP mouse and a laptop backpack. The bundle will cost $399.
Not all details about the HP 15-bw032WM are known at the time of this writing. From the available specs, we can say it is a quite decent mid-range touch-screen laptop. The heart of the system is the AMD A12-9720 mid-tier processor. It is a a quad-core chip, but its performance is in line with Intel’s dual-core mid-range i3 and i5 series. Nevertheless, the A12-9720 with Radeon R7 integrated graphics is an excellent solution for the usual home and office tasks and some basic gaming. 8GB of system memory is capacious and will certainly meet multi-tasking needs of consumers and professionals. The included 1TB (Terabyte) hard drive is spacious, with enough space for user’s documents as well as music and movie archives (if you don’t regularly store giant high-def video files like 4K films).
We don’t have info on screen resolution. But, we assume that the touch display features HD-class 1366-by-768 pixel count and lacks IPS technology for wide viewing angles, just like the other budget HP 15 series models.
Furthermore, the laptop sports a DVD writer, stereo speakers, a web cam, some kind of Wi-Fi wireless connectivity – either 802.11AC or older 802.11N, an Ethernet LAN port, HDMI video out, two USB 3.1 ports and a slower USB 2.0 port, an SD memory card reader, and a combo audio in / out jack.
The HP 15-bw032WM has a 3-cell 31 WHr battery. Our estimation is that it can last around 4 hours on a charge, with light computer usage.

Is hp 15 {amd quad core a12-9720p} with 8gb ram able to run gta 5 perfectly.

Danijel Z –
No, it can run GTA 5 only on low settings and resolutions. Even on low, it won’t run perfectly, because the Radeon R7 integrated graphics is a basic graphics processor. It’s good only for light games.

Does the screen detach on this model? I keep getting a pop up about going into tablet mode, but cant find out how to take the screen off?

Danijel Z –
No, it doesn’t. Tablet Mode is a Windows feature. When turned on, it makes Windows interface more tablet / touch-screen friendly. It doesn’t mean the device itself is a tablet / detachable 2-in-1 PC. The HP 15-bw032WM is a normal notebook, with added touch-screen input.

I’m very disappointed for this. I should have read any feedback of the laptop before buying it. I bought it for 26,500 pesos or 530 dollars without any freebies here in Philippines. Waste of money, very sad tho

I just got this product today for the Black Friday deal. So far, nothing’s damaged or something like that. It’s actually fast, but it depends on how fast your WiFi is, of course. I’m so happy with this laptop.
The backpack looks really awesome, better than I expected! It’s green inside. All the cables are in the backpack when you get your package.
The wireless mouse is shiny! It’s comfortable to use. The AA battery is included for the mouse. The wireless adapter is INSIDE the mouse next to the battery insert, I thought I’d had not gotten it at first.
Be sure to check all setup instructions before doing anything! It also has a built-in microphone. The keyboard may be not back-lit, but touchscreen makes up for that.
For gamers, I recommend buying a 500GB SSD and another 8GB RAM for the laptop. It’s got the potential to be a beast.
The battery life isn’t that long, but there’s always an outlet everywhere. It’s got an AC adapter cord.

I bought this laptop for Black Friday because of the bundle deal. It is now Sunday and I have to say I am very disappointed in my purchase. I will be returning it back to Wal-Mart. I am by no means a tech pro but let me share my problems with this laptop.
1. Battery does not last, I had it charging all night used it in the morning and after 2-3 hours I received the battery notification that I was at 14%.
2. Since I started it up it has been attempting to update apps that are pre-installed (NOT SUCCESSFULLY) I can not open up Netflix because it has been trying to update for 2 days now. I try to sign in to IG (from the app) and when I put my username/password it keeps saying lost communication with URL.
3. Out of no where the laptop makes an odd noise, I have to tap it to stop it.
4. It is pretty slow in opening up browser.
I really wanted this laptop for editing (Youtube videos) but I do not see this happening as an app that should take no more than a minute to load is taking over 2 days to do so. I guess I will just stick to the iPad, I really wanted something a little bigger and more internal storage to work with.
Side note: Touch screen works great. Backpack that came with bundle is nice. The thing that got me about this was the 1 TB of storage.

Nevermind about the Windows 64 thing. I was confused. But still would like to know about the WiFi 802 question. Thanks again.

Hi there. Are you guessing that this laptop has 802. 11n or 802. 11 ac, of have you seen that information somewhere. Very hard to find info on this. Also, I thought I saw somewhere in your review it also comes with Windows 64 Home, but I can’t ifnd that now. Thanks.

Hi. No, I haven’t seen info on that, but all modern laptops have an 802.11N or 802.11AC Wi-Fi module built-in. So, the 15-bw032WM has Wi-Fi but we don’t know yet whether it’s newer 802.11AC or older 802.11N. That’s what I wanted to say. To be clear, 802.11AC modules are backward compatible with 802.11N networks. And both of them should support even older (now rarely used) 802.11B and G.

The HP comes with N for wireless, which is backward compatible with what you would need.
