The $299 “HP 17″ Laptop” from Walmart’s Black Friday 2015 ad is the one sold under title HP Black 17.3″ 17-p121wm Laptop PC with AMD A6-6310 Processor, 4GB Memory, 500GB Hard Drive and Windows 10 Home at Walmart.com.
Besides the lower-mid-range AMD A6-6410 quad-core processor and usual budget RAM / HDD setup of 4GB / 500GB, the black plastic HP 17-p121wm laptop features the standard 1600×900 display resolution for 17.3-inchers, a built-in DVD drive, keyboard with a dedicated numeric pad, single-piece trackpad and stereo speakers. The affordable and “no-frills” desktop replacement notebook also includes a webcam with low-quality VGA resolution, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Ethernet LAN network connections, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 port, HDMI video jack, a media card reader, and a combo audio jack.
The battery has a medium-class capacity of 41 WHr, probably meaning up to four hours of battery life during light computing load.
Overall, the Walmart’s exclusive HP Black 17.3″ 17-p121wm Laptop is a good solution for those who prefer comfortable computing with a big screen and spacious keyboard over portability. With a weight of 6.2 pounds, this model isn’t suitable for carrying around much. Performance-wise, the A6-6410 and its integrated Radeon R4 graphics won’t win any speed awards, but they are suitable for the daily chores of the average user, be it web surfing, media consumption, productivity, or some light casual gaming.

Not a bad system but as usual at about 3 years the crappy Samsung hard drive crashed and burnt. I would not buy any laptop with a Samsung hard drive…. PERIOD!
