HP 340 G1 (Customizable)
The 14-inch HP 340 G1 is a smaller version of the 350 G1, a popular 15.6-inch laptop among budget-oriented business users. Except the screen size, overall dimensions, and present numeric keyboard pad on the larger, these notebooks are pretty much identical. They’re the classic business laptops based on Intel’s “Haswell” processors, ranging from the basic Celeron to the speedy Core i7. These are ultra-low voltage parts. What does it mean? Noticeably slower performance than on the full-voltage parts, but also much lower power consumption and generated heat. But, the ULV CPUs doesn’t mean insufficient potential for daily business and home tasks, especially on the i3, i5, and i7 models.
Data storage space is up to 1 Terabyte of storage space, while memory goes up to 16GB. Since this is a traditional laptop, it does have a DVD burner. The screen resolution is ordinary: 1366×768 pixels. Therefore, you can not expect sharpness found on the Full HD 1920×1080 displays.
To complement business nature of the HP 340 G1, the manufacturer has included Mylar film underneath the keyboard keys to prevent damage from spills. Also, screen coating is anti-glare and there are pre-installed Windows Professional OS editions, both 7 and 8. But, some important business features are missing, such as the Trusted Platform Module encryption for better security and Intel vPro tech for advanced system management.
The notebook is 0.9″ thin and weighs about 4.3 pounds, depending on configuration.
