HP Pavilion x360 13-a010dx Convertible 13.3″ Laptop

Compare Specs

The HP Pavilion x360 13-a010dx is a 13.3-inch laptop, which can be also used as a tablet or multimedia stand or tent, thanks to its fully rotatable hinge.

The 13-a010dx is a mid-range device, specs-wise. This 500-dollar model doesn’t find full HD display, IPS wide viewing angle screen technology, nor keyboard backlight. But, the included Intel Core i3-4030U dual-core processor provides decent computing speed. It can handle the daily chores such as web browsing, text and spreadsheet editing, and multimedia playback with ease. 4GB of RAM ensures flawless multitasking, while the integrated Intel HD 4400-series graphics manages the 1366×768-pixel screen and provides basic gaming potential. This laptop has no built-in DVD drive. The battery life is up to 6 hours and 15 minutes, according to HP.

For sound reproduction, there are stereo speakers backed by Beats Audio technology. The webcam has 720p resolution. For getting you online, HP’s 13-a010dx has Wi-Fi 802.11n wireless and Ethernet LAN wired connections. There are two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, HDMI out, a media card reader, and Bluetooth.

This plastic-cladded notebook with metal-like finish on the palmrest weighs four pounds, which isn’t heavy for a 13.3″ laptop, but for some users it can be heavy when used as a tablet. The chassis is 0.9″ thick.

All factors combined, it is a very good laptop for its price. The 11.6-inch HP x360-series 11-N010DX can be a better choice if you plan to use the device as a classic tablet often, since it’s a pound lighter. The smaller version is cheaper too, but keep in mind that it has a noticeably slower Intel Pentium processor instead of the i3. If you want to stick to the 13.3-inch fully-foldable form factor and are willing to spend more cash, you can check out the the premium-class 13.3″ Lenovo Yoga models with Full HD and above Full HD screens, better internal components, keyboard backlight, and thinner design. Another good alternative is the Asus Q302LA-BBI5T14 with a faster Intel i5 processor.

  1. 3 out of 5 Works Fine

    Christian R-L

It’s fine. I’ve had one for 7 years. The touchpad did stop working but after reinstalling windows the rest of the system was fine. Would recommend as a starter laptop. 3 stars

  2. 1 out of 5

    AMY FRERICHS

DON’T DO IT!!! I am on my THIRD ONE in less than TEN MONTHS!!!! Just stops starting up. Utter failure. I have no doubt this one they sent ground so it takes ANOTHER TEN DAYS to get it back will wind up crapping out probably one day after my year warranty is up and then I’m out. Thank God I went and bought a computer that works after the SECOND REPLACEMENT so I can actually keep working. So, if you are fine with having a part time computer and have a WORKING one on hand for when this one is at HP getting fixed and then having them ship it back GROUND TEN DAYS, then by all means, get it. Otherwise, go to DELL, really.
