Toshiba Radius P55W-B5224 15.6″ Convertible Notebook
The Toshiba Radius P55W-B5224 is a 15.6-inch touchscreen notebook PC. The standout feature is its 360-degree rotatable hinge, which allows additional use of the laptop as a tablet or a movie / presentation screen. Other highlights of this premium-class Windows device are 1080p screen resolution, IPS wide viewing angle technology, the 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4510U dual core processor, 8GB RAM, a 1-Terabyte hard drive, backlit keyboard, and aluminum chassis with 0.8″ thin profile.
The CPU and RAM size make the P55W-B5224 a good solution for more advanced users who do complex stuff like high-resolution multimedia production. But, for top performance you should go for a laptop with a quad-core Intel i7. If you don’t do these regularly, you can be quite satisfied with the cheaper P55W-B5220 model with the i5-4210U processor. It comes with a 750GB HDD instead of 1TB.
The HD 4400 series integrated graphics built into the i7-4510U enables play of many latest AAA games, but only on low settings and resolutions.
Toshiba’s P55W-B5224 has harman/kardon-branded stereo speakers and a 720p web camera. In the networking and connectivity department, there are Wi-Fi wireless, Bluetooth, HDMI video output port, three USB 3.0 ports, multiformat media card reader, and Intel Wireless Display technology for wireless video streaming to TVs and monitors (a separately sold TV adapter required). Toshiba has omitted Ethernet LAN network port and the old VGA video port.
Manufacturer’s estimation is that the battery life on the notebook is up to 8 hours.
