Toshiba’s Satellite Radius P55W-C5200X offers multimode 2-in-1 laptop functionality in a luxury and slim aluminum-topped package. The notebook can be used as a laptop, tablet, multimedia stand or tent, or as a table-top device. Toshiba hasn’t made big compromises in terms of comfort of use and computing performance, since the Radius P55W-C5200X has a full-size 15.6-inch display, excellent Intel Core i5 processor, and large RAM and hard drive sizes of 8GB and 750GB, respectively.

Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W-C5200X 2

The display is not only touch-enabled and decently large, but also provides sharp 1080p picture and IPS-based wide viewing angles. The screen is powered by the Intel HD 5500 entry-level graphics, integrated in the Intel Core i5-5200U dual-core processor. The i5-5200U is a mid-range part, but provides sufficient power for smooth day-to-day work, plus some potential for more demanding media creation and other stuff. 8GB of system memory offers more than enough multitasking potential for everyday use. The 750GB hard drive storage is decently capacious too. Unfortunately, RAM and HDD are not user-upgradeable and there’s no built-in DVD drive.

P55W-C5200X 3

Rounding off the feature set, the Satellite Radius P55W-C5200X includes stereo speakers, a 720p webcam, 802.11AC Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,HDMI video output jack, WiDi technology for wireless connection to external displays, three USB connectors, a media card reader, and a combo mic/headphone audio jack.

We have no info on battery life provided by the laptop’s mid-size 3-cell 45 Whr battery.

The P55W-C5200X comes with Windows 10 OS pre-installed, so you don’t have to bother with OS upgrades after you purchase the 2-in-1 notebook.

Current rating: 3.33 out of 5 stars
  1. 5 out of 5 Great Laptop - Very Durable

    Rahbaba

Had this laptop since 2015, and used it every day for web surfing, mail, accounting, spreadsheets, all windows applications, and graphics. Very rarely did I use the touch screen features except a few times when traveling. This laptop has been through airport security many times, and holds up well. It does not have a DVD, so I use the USB ports for external backup drive or a DVD burner/player. Altogether, I would buy another one when this one dies.

I have recently acquired myself a Toshiba p55w-c5200x. I used it both for work and leisure, and I must say that it delivers what it promised. I haven’t had any problems with its booting, data processing and user interface. I do wish it had an LAN Ethernet port for gaming purposes, but I guess I could just assemble myself a gaming PC and leave this precious 2-in-1 in all its glory. The webcam, as reviewed by Laptopmag©, could be better; but I don’t really need a high-def laptop webcam, as I use an external camera (Sony Handycam™ HDR-XR160) for video footage capturing and/or important conference calls. The sound is spectacular, loud in all the right ways and it handles bass levels really well. Graphics are top-notch and that’s always great for high-def content.

Overall, I’d rate the laptop a 4, because of the teeny things it lacks. It is still one heck of a machine in a sleek and lightweight package.

Honestly at this point I wouldn’t even give them a1 star. I purchased one had to replace the next day only to bring the new one home today and be hit with the same problem. There is something wrong with there start up programming. So when you turn your computer on for the very first time and it is asking you all the set up questions, you get to the point where you create the password for it. You click on register and the screen goes black stays black close to 6-15 min before, your computer shuts down. With my first one it would at least go back to the Time and where you are located question before, restarting, the one I just got however, doesn’t even do that it is just goes to a black screen. So I will have to wonderfully go back to Best Buy and have it replaced or have my money refunded so I can get a laptop that works. So yeah don’t waist your money. Just so you know I had tad to go to a different Best Buy Location to pick up the new one they put on hold for me. So something is very faulty with those 2in1s. Not a happy camper as I need to find one that works in a day before, school starts. Oh Just so you all Know the Geek Squad can’t help you it is why I had to have them call and put one on hold at another store. They didn’t even understand what was going on. They are most likely not going to be happy that I am coming back.
