Toshiba Satellite C55DT-B5153 / C55DT-B5208 Touch 15.6″ Laptop with AMD A8 & 750GB HDD
The Toshiba Satellite C55DT-B5153 / C55DT-B5208 is generally a budget-class notebook, but it quite well equipped. This 15.6-inch laptop belongs to the popular C55 series with plastic chassis and mediocre 1366×768 screen resolution. As extra features, the C55DT-B5208 has touchscreen support, as well as a 750GB hard drive and 6GB of RAM memory instead of 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM on the basic models.
The notebook is powered by the AMD A8-6410 quad-core processor with the Radeon R5 graphics. The chip ensures flawless day-to-day home and office work and gaming on lower graphics settings. Its speed is similar to the more popular Intel Core i3 series with the HD 4400 integrated graphics.
Besides the touchscreen, for work with Windows operating system and applications you can use the spacious keyboard with numeric pad and with mechanical click buttons.
The C55DT-B5153 and C55DT-B5208 feature stereo speakers, a 720p webcam, Wi-Fi wireless and wired Ethernet LAN connections, HDMI and VGA video connectors, and a multi-in-one media card reader. The notebook has three USB ports and Bluetooth 4.0 interface.
The battery is a 4-cell 45Whr unit. We have no info on battery life.
As a side note, the battery isn’t user removable. Toshiba also says RAM memory isn’t upgradeable on this model, but the included 6GB is more than enough for daily tasks.
The utilitarian-looking is 1.1 thick and has a textured anti-slip Jet Black matte finish.
There are many other touch-enabled 15.6-inchers on the market with better components and design but also higher prices, as well as cheaper ones with slower processors. The C55DT-B5153 / C55DT-B5208 hits the sweet spot and the included touchscreen, decent processor, and large RAM and HDD sizes justify the price of this model.
