Toshiba Qosmio G40, a new version of company’s flagship 17-inch widescreen media center notebook, will be released in June, according to leaked product information.
It is reported that Toshiba Qosmio G40 will be built upon Intel 965PM chipset, which is a part of chip maker’s forthcoming Santa Rosa notebook platform. The G40 will also feature the next generation Core 2 Duo (Merom) T7300P processor, as well as NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with 512 MB of dedicated memory and with HDMI 1.3 output. The Qosmio G40’s display will provide 1920 x 1200 resolution. Along with a HD DVD reader, it will have 2GB of RAM and up to two 2.5-inch 200GB hard drives at 4200rpm rotational speed.
The G40 will weigh eleven pounds and will ship with Windows Vista operating system pre-installed.
The Qosmio G40′s designers have replaced black look of previous models with new white chassis.
In Europe, Toshiba’s forthcoming entertainment notebook will be priced at $2999 Euros. There is no information on G40′s availability in the United States. According to Qosmio’s previous names, the model for the U.S. market might be called Qosmio G45.
