Toshiba Qosmio G40, a new version of company’s flagship 17-inch widescreen media center notebook, will be released in June, according to leaked product information.
It is reported that Toshiba Qosmio G40 will be built upon Intel 965PM chipset, which is a part of chip maker’s forthcoming Santa Rosa notebook platform. The G40 will also feature the next generation Core 2 Duo (Merom) T7300P processor, as well as NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with 512 MB of dedicated memory and with HDMI 1.3 output. The Qosmio G40’s display will provide 1920 x 1200 resolution. Along with a HD DVD reader, it will have 2GB of RAM and up to two 2.5-inch 200GB hard drives at 4200rpm rotational speed.
The G40 will weigh eleven pounds and will ship with Windows Vista operating system pre-installed.
The Qosmio G40’s designers have replaced black look of previous models with new white chassis.
In Europe, Toshiba’s forthcoming entertainment notebook will be priced at $2999 Euros. There is no information on G40’s availability in the United States. According to Qosmio’s previous names, the model for the U.S. market might be called Qosmio G45.
Hmmm….The previous three models (G10, G20, G30) have all be unreliable as hell, why should be believe this is going to be any better?
Not to mention its as ugly as hell! The bezel around the screen looks terrible, the media and volume controls (as it appears those round things are) look shocking and the keyboard looks really really cheap.
And to top it all off, you are able to get a Asus laptop, which has the same spec’s,is built better and looks 3 million times better, for less?
Any reason to even consider one of these after sharing my opinions above? NO.
What a joke Toshiba!

what Rhys say it´s not true. Toshiba is the best computer company nowadays. I own a Qosmio G20 and after 2 years owning it i can say this laptop is absolutly amasing in every detail. Design is suberb and classy. How can this guy say G40 isn´t good if he haven´t seen it or tried it because it´s only available in Japan. Get a life
