The Toshiba Satellite C855-S5239 is a 2nd Gen Intel Core i3-2370M-powered configuration, belonging to the recently released C855 15.6-inch inexpensive notebook series.
The 2nd Gen i3 CPU is paired with 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 640GB hard drive. Since the C855 is also delivered with the faster Core i5 and slower Pentium and Celeron processors, as well as different RAM and HDD capacity, the C855-S5239 is a middle-of-the-road variant. For instance, the i3-2370M scores PassMark benchmark average of decent 3,228 points, which means more than enough power for routine daily tasks and multimedia. Gaming is however out of question, not only because of the CPU itself but also its integrated HD 3000-series graphics without almost any gaming potential. Back to the raw processing capabilities, the faster i5-2450M has a score or 3,584, while the Pentium B960 is significantly slower with 2,109 points. Both of these CPUs are available as C855 options.
What’s also specific for the Satellite C855-S5239 model is its Mercury Silver chassis, which on some other models can be black, white, or red. This is where differences between the C855 configurations end, since they all feature a DVD burner, 1366×768 display resolution, a 1MP webcam, stereo speakers, HDMI, and a USB 3.0 port. One exception is Bluetooth, which is not present on the S5239.
