Toshiba today announced the Satellite M115-S3144, Toshiba’s first 14.1-inch widescreen laptop featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile (Merom) processor. The M115-S3144 incorporates the latest Core 2 Duo T5200 at 1.6GHz with 2MB of L2 cache and 533MHz FSB.
Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144 multimedia notebook includes 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM dual-channel memory expandable to 4096MB, an 120GB SATA hard disk drive spinning at 5400rpm and a double layer DVD burner. It has Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 224MB of dynamically allocated shared graphics memory.
Regarding Internet and networking, Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144 features Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g), 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet, and a standard 56K modem.
The new notebook has 4-USB ports, i.LINK IEEE-1394, 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter, PCMCIA slot, VGA out and S-video TV out.
According to the M115-S3144 product specifications, the laptop has battery life of up to 2.75 hours.
Weighing at least 5.2 pounds, Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144 features an Onyx Blue Metallic high-gloss lid as well as high-gloss silver palm rest inside.
The new Windows Vista Premium Ready laptop comes with XP Media Center Edition 2005 preinstalled.
Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144 is currently available from ToshibaDirect (www.toshibadirect.com) and major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide, with an estimated single unit price (ESUP) of $1,250.
