Toshiba has announced the Satellite M300/M305 laptop series, featuring a 14.1-inch display, Intel’s Centrino technology, and a new chassis design.
The first two available M300/M305 configurations are the Toshiba Satellite M305-S4822 with the Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 65nm processor at 1.83GHz, and the Satellite M305-S4826 with the Core 2 Duo T8100 45nm CPU at 2.1GHz. The both notebooks include the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 integrated GPU, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive with 5,400rpm rotational speed, DVD burner, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, and an embedded web camera with Toshiba’s Face Recognition software. The 14.1″ screen in the M300/M305 has a resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.
The new Satellite sports the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG 802.11a/b/g module, an Ethernet LAN port, 56k modem, three USB ports with Sleep and Charge functionality, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, VGA and S-Video outputs, and an S/P DIF output port (shared with headphone port).
The Toshiba Satellite M300/M305 weighs starting at 5.2 pounds and has the new Fusion finish with Horizon pattern, as well as feather-touch CD/DVD control buttons.
The M305-S4822 and M305-S4826 come with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 preinstalled and are priced at $949.99 and $1,049.99 respectively.
