Toshiba Satellite P205DToshiba today announced the Satellite P205D desktop replacement notebook, featuring a 17-inch display and AMD’s processor and graphics technology.

The P205D is available in such configurations as the higher-end Satellite P205D-S7479 and the affordable Satellite P205D-S7438.

The P205D-S7479 features the AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Gold Edition TL-64 2.2GHz processor, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 dedicated video card supporting DirectX 10, 2GB of DDR2 system memory, a 250GB hard drive at 4200rpm, a DVD burner with Labelflash technology, the Atheros 802.11a/g/n wireless module, embedded web camera, the Harman Kardon stereo speakers, and a fingerprint reader. This model is priced at $1,349.99.

On the other side, the Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7438 is equipped with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core TK-55 1.9GHz processor and the ATI Radeon Xpress X1200M integrated graphics. This configuration comes with 1GB of memory, a 160GB 5400rpm hard drive, the Atheros 802.11b/g wireless LAN, and built-in stereo speakers. The P205D-S7438 costs $849.99.

All of the Toshiba Satellite P205D models feature a 17″ widescreen glossy (TruBrite) display with 1440-by-900 pixel native resolution. There are also a full-size keyboard with a numeric pad, a DVD burner with Labelflash technology, an Ethernet LAN and a 56K modem, as well as an ExpressCard slot, a 5-in-1 media card reader, six USB ports, and a FireWire port.

The P205D has the Onyx Blue display lid and weighs starting at 7.2 pounds. It ships with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition OS.
