Toshiba’s Digital Products Division today announced its latest “ultra-portable and ultra-durable” Satellite U205-S5034 and U205-S5044 laptops. The new Toshiba’s 12.1-inch widescreen notebooks feature Intel Core 2 Duo (Merom) processor and Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset.
Priced at estimated $1,300, Toshiba Satellite U205-S5034 comes with Core 2 Duo T5200 processor (1.60GHz, 2MB L2, 533MHz FSB), 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM memory and 100GB SATA hard disk drive at 5400rpm.
Toshiba Satellite U205-S5044 is powered by Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2, 667MHz FSB). It comes with 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM and 100GB 5400rpm SATA hard disk drive. It’s estimated price is $1600.
The both new Satellite U205 ultraportables feature Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 128MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory, double layer DVD burner, an integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g), 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet and 56K modem, as same as biometric fingerprint reader.
Toshiba Satellite U205-S5034 and Satellite U205-S5044 laptops have 3 USB ports, i.LINK IEEE-1394, 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter and PCMCIA PC card slot.
The latest U205 PCs have weight starting at 4.1 lbs and battery life of up to 4.34 hours.
The Windows Vista Premium Ready U205-S5034 and U205-S5044 come with Windows XP Media Center 2005 preinstalled.
