Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820 Now Shipping

The Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820, the first model in the newly designed Satellite U400/U405 13.3-inch notebook PC series, can be purchased now.

The Satellite U405-S2820 is priced at $949.99 and features the Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor at 1.83GHz, the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 integrated GPU, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive with 5,400rpm rotational speed, DVD burner, stereo speakers, and an embedded web camera with Toshiba’s Face Recognition. A 13.3″ display in the U405-S2820 has 1280×800 resolution.

The laptop sports the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG 802.11a/b/g module, an Ethernet port, and a 56k modem.

It also has three USB ports with Sleep and Charge functionality, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, VGA output, S/P DIF output port (shared with headphone port), and fingerprint reader.

The Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820 weighs 4.85 pounds and has the new Fusion finish with Horizon pattern, as well as feather-touch CD/DVD control buttons.

The U405-S2820 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 preinstalled and can be ordered through Toshiba’s official website .
