Toshiba has unveiled the new desktop replacement notebook for business users – the Tecra A10.
The 15.4-inch laptop features Intel Centrino 2 technology and the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M graphics card with 256MB of dedicated video memory. The configurable A10-ST9010 model can be ordered with the Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, P8600, or T9400 processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space or a 128GB solid state drive, and a DVD burner. Display resolution options are 1280×800 and 1680×1050.
Other features of the Tecra A10 include a built-in web camera, the Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN wireless module, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and 56k modem connections, three USB ports, an additional USB/eSATA port with Sleep-and-Charge functionality, DVI-D and VGA video outputs, Serial and Firewire ports, a PC Card slot, and 6-in-1 media card reader.
For enhanced security, there are a fingerprint reader, Smart Card reader, and the Trusted Platform Module 1.2.
The Toshiba Tecra A10 starts at 6.2 pounds with a 6-cell battery that provides up to 3 hours and 10 minutes of operation on a single charge.
The notebook runs Windows Vista and incorporates Intel vPro technology for easier IT manageability.
The basic Tecra A10 configuration costs $1,149 at Toshiba’s online store.
The company also launched a 14.1-inch version – the Tecra M10.
