Toshiba has unveiled the Tecra R10, a newly designed thin-and-light laptop with a 14.1-inch display and Intel Centrino 2 technology.
Measuring 1.13 inches at the thinnest edge and weighing 4.4 pounds, the Toshiba Tecra R10 includes the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M 128MB discrete graphics card. The first offered model, the R10-S4401, comes with the Core 2 Duo SP9300 CPU at 2.26GHz, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive, and DVD burner. Its 1280×800 widescreen display uses LED backlight.
The Tecra R10 also features a built-in web camera, the Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN wireless module, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections, as well as two USB ports, an additional USB/eSATA combo port with “Sleep and Charge” functionality, PC Card and ExpressCard slots, a 6-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, and DVI-D and VGA outputs.
Regarding security, there are fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module 1.2, while Intel’s vPro technology enables easier IT management.
According to Toshiba, the laptop provides up to 5.48 hours of battery life with a standard 6-cell unit.
The Toshiba Tecra R10-S4401 runs Windows Vista Business operating system and costs $1,549 at the company’s online store.
