ViewSonic has unveiled the Android OS-based ViewPad 7 multitouch tablet at the 2010 IFA Show in Berlin.
The 7-inch ViewPad 7 runs Androdid 2.2 with access to the Google Android app marketplace and provides 3G phone, augmented reality, navigation, and ebook reading functionality, besides Internet and multimedia capabilities.
It uses a 600MHz Qualcomm “Snapdragon” processor and has a Micro SD slot for up to 32GB of storage capacity, a front VGA and back-facing 3.2MP camera, stereo speakers, a full-size SIM card slot, Wi-Fi, integrated Bluetooth, Assisted GPS, built-in accelerometer, a mini-USB port, and an audio connector.
The LED-backlight display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
ViewSonic’s Viewpad 7 will be available starting in October for about $399 Euros ($514 US dollars).
The company is also going to release the 10-inch ViewPad 100.
