VoodooPC ENVY H:171VoodooPC today introduced ENVY H:171, its new 17-inch gaming notebook PC, which can be also used for demanding tasks like 3D and 2D rendering, and photo and video editing. The ENVY H:171 features a desktop-use Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, up to two NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, and up to three hard drives.

Along with Core 2 Extreme X6800 CPU with 2.93GHz clock speed, VoodooPC ENVY H:171 is configurable with Core 2 Duo E6600 at 2.4GHz and E6700 at 2.66GHz, also designed for desktop computers. The system comes with up to 4GB of DDR2 PC-5300 system memory. Although press release says that this notebook delivers up to 600GB of storage space, the configuration page on VoodooPC’s website enables selection of three 250GB hard drives for a total of 750GB data storage. The system supports RAID 0, RAID 1 or RAID 5 HDD modes, and comes with a DVD burner.

Regarding graphics and sound, VoodooPC ENVY H:171 provides NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 512MB video card, or dual video solution using two of these GPUs in NVIDIA SLI mode. The 17″ widescren display has 1920×1200 resolution. This notebook features 8-channel audio system and a built-in subwoofer, as well as an optional TV tuner.

There is no detailed list of laptop’s ports and slots on product pages, but we assume this PC is built on Clevo D900C, providing four USB ports, a 7-in-1 Card Reader, a FireWire, and VGA, DVI, and S-Video outputs.

The ENVY:171 has “AGN” wireless card, a built-in Bluetooth, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, and a 56K modem, while for video conferencing there is a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera.

VoodooPC ENVY H:171 weighs approximately 11.9lbs and provides a variety of options for paint and tattoo finishes.

It is priced around $5.000 and comes with Windows XP or Windows Vista OS, depending on your choice.
