WD Scorpio 250GB Notebook Hard Drive Announced

Western Digital Corp. today announced the availability of its 250GB WD Scorpio 2.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive for notebooks. The WD2500BEVS drive spins at 5400rpm and employs perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology for higher storage capacity in a small form factor.

The new WD Scorpio 250GB laptop HDD has 8MB of buffer cache memory and 12 ms access time. It utilizes Western Digital’s technologies such as WhisperDrive for quiet work and ShockGuard for hard drive’s physical protection.

WD Scorpio WD2500BEVS 250GB drives are available on the company’s online store (www.westerndigital.com) for an estimated price of $199.99.
