WidowPC gaming laptop boutique today announced Sting 517D, a new Intel Core 2 Duo-powered notebook claimed to be a solution for “those seeking an alternative to mass produced laptops like the Dell XPS M1710″. WidowPC Sting 517D 17-inch 1920 x 1200 widescreen laptop sports the nVIDIA GeForce Go 7800/7900/7950 GTX or nVIDIA Quadro FX Go 2500M graphics with 256MB and 512MB of DDR3 video memory, Intel’s High Definition Audio, up to 4 GB of main memory and up to 200 GB SATA hard drive.
Along with wireless, Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, and a 56K modem, it has FireWire Port, Infrared, four USB ports, DVI out, S-vdieo in and out, serial port and an Express slot. In addition WidowPC Sting 517D features built in webcam and an optional TV tuner.
Sting 517D has starting price of $2,195, which is “roughly $100 less than Dell’s XPS product”, according to WidowPC.
