Microsoft has announced this week the upcoming Windows 7 operating system, which is based on Windows Vista.
Windows 7 offers improved user interface and networking features, support for touch gestures, new Internet Explorer 8 browser, and Device Stage for easier management of media players, cameras, and other devices that are connected to your PC.
The software maker also says the new OS will provide “more options than ever to customize and personalize your Windows PC”.
Windows 7 will be available in many different flavors, including a version for netbook computers.
A “feature complete” beta of Windows 7 is expected to be available in early 2009.
