Acer Global site listed thirteen new laptop models featuring the latest Intel Core 2 Duo, codenamed Merom, processor.
Intel’s Merom CPU powers six new models in Acer TravelMate series. Those are 14-inch screen 3270 and 3290 TravelMate laptops, as same as 15.4-inch TravelMate 8210, 4230 and 4280 notebook PCs. Acer TravelMate 5620 is the first Acer’s 17-inch notebook to feature Core 2 Duo processor, according to Acer’s notebook comparison table.
In Acer’s Aspire notebook line 14.1-inch screen 5590 model is powered by the Core 2 Duo, while among 15.4-inch laptops 5630, 5680 and 9120 models are listed with the latest Intel’s 64-bit dual-core processor option. In 17-inch Acer Aspire notebook category, the 9420 and 9520 will have Core 2 Duo CPU. At last, Acer Aspire 9810 laptop, along with 20.1-inch screen will feature Intel’s Merom processor.
The new option in Acer TravelMate notebooks with Intel’s chips is 64-bit Windows x64 operating system preloaded on 3290 and 8210 models.
Regarding optical devices, the Acer TravelMate 8210 has Blu-Ray disc drive, while the Acer’s HD DVD equipped notebooks are Aspire 5500, 9110, 9120, 9510, 9520 and 9810.
There is no information about prices and availability of these laptops.
