Asustek has released the B23E, a 12.5-inch ultraportable laptop with full-voltage Intel Core series processors.
It’s not colorful, but that’s not a drawback for a business laptop like the B23E. The B23E-XH71 model offered for pre-orders is plain black with matte surfaces and is designed to deliver a better ruggedness than widely used consumer laptops. It’s made of magnesium-alloy and sports a spill-resistant keyboard, metal hinges, and and anti-shock hard drive.
Besides the 500GB HDD spinning at faster than standard 7,200rpm, the 3.2-pound heavy and 1.5″ thick B23E-XH71 packs a dual-core Intel i7-2620M processor from the Sandy Bridge family, 4GB of RAM, a DVD burner drive, a 3-cell battery, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi.
A 0.3MP webcam is located above the 12.5″ 1366×768 anti-glare display.
Since it’s a notebook for the business people, it comes with Windows 7 Professional. We’ve spotted a fingerprint reader on the image of the B23E-XH71, but there’s no info about it in the specs.
The Asus B23E-XH71 is priced at $922, with included 3-year standard and 1-year accidental damage warranty.
A similar laptop we got hand-on recently is the Samsung 400B.
