Intel Core Ultra 5 125H Laptop Processor

The Intel Core Ultra 5 125H is a mid-range processor you can typically find in the 2024 mainstream laptop PC models. It is an excellent CPU for the daily computing tasks, with some additional potential for advanced stuff like media creation.

If you compare it to the traditional mid-range Intel Core i5 U series, the Core Ultra H-series 5 125H can be considered to be an upper-mid-range processor, since it delivers noticeably faster computing speed. On the other hand, it is not as fast as its Ultra 7 155H an Ultra 9 185H siblings, nor the full-blown 14th Gen Intel Core H high-performance CPU series commonly used in gaming laptops.

In the Intel laptop CPU lineup, the Core Ultra 5 125H replaces the older Intel Core i5-1340P. Performance- and power consumption-wise, the i5-1340P is likely the closest CPUs to the Ultra 5 125H. They both consume 28 Watt of power by default. However, the Ultra variant has a pair of brand new low power cores which make it more power efficient when it comes to the lightest computing tasks. Anyway, 28 Watts is more than the 15 Watts of the common Core U series chips, but less than 45 and 55 Watts of the Core Ultra 9 H and the current 2023 / 2024 gaming-class Core H / HX chips, respectively.

As for the 3D gaming performance of the built-in Intel Arc entry-level graphics processor, it is suitable only for light PC games. But, it is better than the popular Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics processors of 2023, rebranded as the Intel Graphics in the 2024 CPUs. In comparison to the Intel Arc included in the Ultra 7 CPU, the Arc in the Ultra 5 is slightly slower.
