HP Pavilion dv6500t Now Available

HP Pavilion dv6500tHewlett-Packard today announced the HP Pavilion dv6500t laptop based on new Intel “Santa Rosa” notebook PC platform.

The 15.4-inch widescreen (1280×800) HP Pavilion dv6500t is currently configurable with the new Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz/2MB L2 cache) or with T7300 (2.0GHz/4MB L2 cache) processor. It incorporates GM965 chipset, which has an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. HP Pavilion dv6500t comes with up to 2GB of DDR2 system memory, although the system supports up to 4G. It ships with up to 200GB SATA hard drive at 4200rpm rotational speed, while the offered HDDs with lower capacities spin at 5400rpm. The dv6500t provides DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive, DVD burner or DVD burner featuring LightScribe technology for inscribing labels onto DVD media, depending on your choice.

HP Pavilion dv6500t Imprint Radiance FinishHP Pavilion dv6500t features 802.11a/b/g wireless connection and an optional Wi-Fi N (802.11n draft). There are also optional Bluetooth and a Verizon V740 ExpressCard for broadband wireless, as well as a built-in Ethernet LAN and a 56k modem.

HP Pavilion dv6500t has Altec Lansing stereo speakers three USB ports, Firewire, VGA out, S-Video TV out, 5-in-1 media card reader, an ExpressCard slot, and optional web-camera, fingerprint reader and Expresscard TV Tuner.

The notebook weighs approximately 6.14lbs and comes with new HP Imprint Finish “Radiance” coating and Microsoft Windows Vista OS.

HP Pavilion dv6500t has a starting price of $949 at HP’s web site.

  1. I think a total of 2GB is a maximum because they currently have not 2GB memory modules to fill two memory slots in laptop, for a total of 4GB. However, even if you have 2 x 2GB modules, you will have to use 64-bit operating system in order to utilize 4GB, since the 32-bit OSs are designed to use a maximum of around 3GB.
