  1. Thank you for making this deal watch. Is the $349 Surface Go deal exclusively for the Microsoft Store site?

    1. Yep, I just missed it at the last moment – stock unavailable right now. Hopefully they will restock soon. Thanks again!

  2. I picked up the Best buy m3 model of the surface pro 2017. it works pretty great but I have been considering returning it to get the Costco deal instead. Do you know if costco charges for shipping? it’s tough for me to tell since I’m not yet a Costco member but I’ve been thinking strongly about signing up. The other thing I was wondering about is if the Costco model specifically the i5 surface pro 6 is also a fanless type. Any thoughts on that?

    1. Hi, Costco pages of the Surface Pro 6 bundles (Item # 1275691 and 1277405 on say that “standard shipping via UPS Ground is included in the quoted price”. There’s also Express shipping is via UPS, but its pricing is only available at the check out (probably depends on your shipping address / location).

And yes, the Surface Pro 6 with the Intel Core i5 is fanless. The i7 variant is not fanless.

        1. Yeah, a bit weird these Surface deals are not in the Costco Black Friday ad. They are in a separate Holiday Savings ad for deals available Nov. 16th – Nov. 26th. So, on paper they should be available on Black Friday too, but I’m not so sure about that because they marked the deals with “while supplies last”.

            1. The $799 Costco Surface Pro 6 deal is available in stores and online, while the $1,399 deal is available online only, according to their Holiday Savings ad.

  3. I bought the SP4 at best buy today. They included a type cover that normally cost $130 ish. It’s near $700 total with the stylus and 9% tax.

  4. i almost went ahead and bought the sp4 today but came across your article. how many more days until there will be more discounts, do you think?

    1. The Intel Core m3-6y30 in the basic Surface Pro 4 scores around 3,000 points in popular PassMark benchmark, while the i5-6300U scores around 4,300. If you’re only into basic work like web surf, Office, Netflix etc, this difference isn’t huge. But it will be noticeable in heavy tasks like video production etc.

However, a great advantage of the Intel m3-based SP4 is its fanless design. The m3 has much lower cooling requirements and also consumes less power than the i5 and i7 versions, so you should have a slightly better battery life with it.

      1. Just starting to look for a Surface deal. So do all of the Surface i5 configurations use a fan? I kinda like the idea of no noise while using a tablet.

        1. You are interested in the Surface PRO, right? The Surface Pro 5 and 6 with the Core i5 are both fanless. As far as I remember older Pro models with the i5 have fans. The i5 Surface Laptop 1 & 2 have fans, too. I also know the 13.5″ Surface Book 2 with i5 is fanless. For the rest of the lineup I would have to check online.

  5. Do the Surface Pro 3 Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals include any kind of Microsoft Office software?

    1. If you’re referring to the points in the Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2015 deals list, these are PassMark benchmark scores for devices’ processors.

  6. Any news on free keyboards like last year? There was Surface 2 with keyboard for $200. The $300 deal w/o keyboard isn’t worth it.

    1. Nothing so far. By the way, the $200 deal was actually for the original Surface RT 1 and keyboard. It was an excellent deal anyway. I’ve checked Micro Center again this year, but no such or similar offers are available.
